Chief Mountain Winter Hike
Chief Mountain summit is at  11,729 feet.  This was a 963 foot vertical climb and a 3.1 mile
roundtrip expedition.  This has been hiked many times even in the dead of winter.   This hike
is done mostly for the view of the Continental Divide.   All photos are from 01/30/2009 unless
otherwise noted.
The snow was over 2 feet deep
on the trail below treeline.
