Hike S. Boulder Creek at Moffat Tunnel
6/7/2010
The S. Boulder Creek trail (900) was attempted twice without success.  The first time in
the fall, a snowstorm moved in over the pass and no photos were taken.  The second
time was on June 7th and it was too early as there was too much snow.  This trail goes
to Rogers Pass which you can see in the Rogers Pass hike.  This slideshow and the
Diamond Lake hike are to illustrate how the snow conditions affect hiking even into July.
There was water everywhere right
from the start.
Where we aborted the hike due
to deep snow and the trail was
more like a creek.
On June 7th there was snow near
the trailhead.
A tributary to the S. Boulder
Creek has a scenic waterfall.
A long abandoned cabin early in
the hike.
Some of the streams were
now raging rivers.
