Mt Nystrom Trail Hike 7/22/08
This hike was meant to cover the portion of the Continental Divide
Trail between the Henderson Mine access trail and Jones Pass.  We
hiked 9.5 miles from 10569 to 12324 feet for a vertical rise of 1755
feet.  We stopped 2 miles short of Jones Pass.  This hike took the
west portion of the Mt. Nystrom Continental Divide Trail.
As we crossed the treeline we
came to a Krummholz.
The boulder field where there
were many Marmots and Pika.
Sitting on a perch having lunch.
The Rosy Paintbrush was very
prevelant.
Jones Pass, where we hoped
would be our destination.  We
stopped 2 miles short.
We had to cross snowfields on
July 22nd.
A cornice still existed on July
22nd.
The side of the Continental
Divide that drains to the west.
The Clark's Nutcracker feeds
upside down.
A wildflower field fed by a
snowfield.
Approaching the treeline.
Much of the hike was above
treeline.
