Soon we pass the evaporation
ponds for the Texas Gulf
Potash Plant.
The river comes very close to
the road.
Typical view the first 10 miles.
We approach the Dead Horse
Point State Park bluffs.
The high column in the center
of the photo is the viewing
point from Dead Horse Point SP.
The scenery is spectacular.
The road then deviates to
about a mile from the river.

The river bends near the road at
about the 21 miles from the start.
At 16  miles the road turns
into a 4WD dirt road.
Everywhere the color is red.
We take turns getting
photographed at the
overlook of the
Gooseneck.
This point is called The Colorado River Gooseneck which
is the view seen from above at Dead Horse Point.
We can for the first time see the
Gooseneck.  Note the bluffs on the
right which is the viewing area from
Dead Horse Point State Park.
Joanne is overwelmed by the
spectacular spot called the
Colorado River  Gooseneck.
On the right are the bluffs of
Dead Horse Point State Park.
We start the drive back.
Near the Potash Plant we pass a balancing rock.
As we get near Moab and the end of our drive, the
views continue with spectacular scenery.
