President Washington's museum is located in
Mount Vernon, Virginia.   President Washington
was president from 1
789 to 1797.
In 1752 he also leased Mount
Vernon and started farming it.  He
inherited it in 1761.  His main
crop at Mount Vernon was first
tobacco.

Upon returning to Mount
Vernon he began  experiments
with crop rotation.  He married
Martha in 1759.
Our first President being sworn
in 1789.
The General did absent farming
as he was involved in the
French and Indian war.
The death of his father when
he was 15 cut his formal
education short.
He then joined the Colonial
Army in 1752.
His first profession was a
surveyor.
In 1758 the French and Indian
war ended and Washington
gave up his commission and  
returned to Mount Vernon to
full time farm.
Washington was against the British
Stamp act of 1765 and with the
Boston Tea Party in 1774 he began
organizing a colonial militia.

The Revolutionary war end with
Yorktown in 1781.
In 1787 the new country was
coming apart at the seams

The Revolutionary War broke
out in 1775 and Washington
was named commander of the
Continental Army.
Washington was made
President of the Convention.
In 1787 the Constitutional
Convention was called to
create the new Constitution
.
Our first President was voted
in by the state delegates on
February 7, 1787
.
Our first President traveled to
New York to be swarn in
.
Our first President's first term from 1789 to 1793.
Our first President's second term from 1793 to 1797.
