When President Roosevelt died in April of 1945 Harry
S. Truman became President
.  His Library is located
in Independence, Missouri.

Important decisions made by Truman included the dropping of the Atomic Bomb, dealing with Stalin and
the Cold War, the Marshall plan to rebuild Europe and the forming of NATO

In 1948 Truman
recognizes the state
of Israel
