Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana.  It has a population of 228,000
with a metro population of 830,000.  It is located on the east side of the
Mississippi just 50 miles north of New Orleans
Monument to the Battle of
Baton Rouge fought in 1779.  It
is the only battle of the
American Revolution fought
outside of the 13 colonies.
The Louisiana Governor's home
