Manaus is 1000 miles from where the Amazon empties into the ocean. Manaus elevation is only 90' above sea level. In 1000 miles the Amazon drops 90 feet. Manaus is a city of 2 million people. It is accessible only by plane or river. There are no roads or trains to Manaus. |
