| Nicaragua has 5.6 million people in a area half the size of Colorado. In 1979 Samoza was overthrown and replaced with the Communist government called Sandinista. There was a civil war and finally a vote was allowed in 1984. The Sandinista party won with questionable results but was finally defeated in the next election in 1990. Nicaragua is the poorest country in North America. |
